BIOL 1695 - Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory II

Course Description

This in-person laboratory course is the second half of the laboratory component generally required for a fundamental first-year anatomy and physiology course. This course covers the nervous system and the senses in addition to the endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, urinary, digestive and reproductive systems.

Learning outcomes

• Describe the structure and function of each of the following systems: endocrine; cardiovascular, including blood, the heart, and blood vessels; lymphatic; respiratory; digestive; urinary; and reproductive.
• Discuss nutrition and metabolism.
• Discuss fluid, electrolyte and acid-base homeostasis.
• Discuss development and inheritance.

Students are required to wear the following:

• Printed laboratory manual which is found in their Moodle shell

Assessments

Assessment will be based on two mandatory laboratory examinations held during the laboratory session. Students must pass each mandatory laboratory exam with a minimum of 50%, and achieve 50% overall in the laboratory course.
