Course Description

Students explore selected topics in contemporary psychology, including the history of psychology, methodology, heredity and learning, physiology and neuropsychology, consciousness, sensation and perception, learning, and memory.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe key concepts, principles, and overarching themes in psychology.
  • Describe how psychological ideas and knowledge apply to everyday life.
  • Demonstrate scientific reasoning to interpret psychological phenomena.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills for different purposes.
  • Demonstrate how sociocultural factors relate to scientific inquiry into psychological questions.

To successfully complete this course, students must achieve a passing grade of 50% or higher on the overall course, and 50% or higher on the final mandatory exam.
