Course Description

This course is designed to build on the learner’s existing nursing knowledge and clinical competency. The focus is on understanding and applying principles of safety that underpin technical skills and on ensuring the learner’s knowledge reflects contemporary nursing practice in diverse practice settings.

Assessments

Please be aware that should your course have a final exam, you are responsible for the fee to the online proctoring service, ProctorU, or to the in-person approved Testing Centre. Please contact exams@tru.ca with any questions about this.

To successfully complete this course, students must achieve a passing grade of 60% or higher on the overall course, 90% or higher on the mandatory Math for Medications Quiz, and 60% or higher on the mandatory Final Exam.

Prerequisites

  • Admission to the Return to Registered Nurse Practice Certificate program
    Or
  • Current Registration in the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
    Or
  • Permission of School of Nursing Associate Dean or appropriate designate.

Recommended requisite(s)

  • Participants in the Return to Registered Nurse Practice Certificate program are strongly advised to complete this course just prior to registering for NURS 3651 and after completing HLTH 3611, HLTH 3621, and HLTH 3631.
